I am a Butterfly - Part II

Laden with tears my heart sought
in embracing inadequate dogmas
binding me from ever eternal freedom
thrusting me back into the dark cocoon
tangled in luxurious silk, what irony.
With superficial hopes of survival I struggled.
My illicit affair continued
listening to a faraway buzz of the local crowd
The silk interweaved around my wings
A new kaleidoscope emerged
eluding, daunting, twisting
and suffocating and conquering
Slit me open, someone please
Maybe then I could sleep soundly still
I could breathe free, just this once.

From sublime to ridiculous,
from mirth to misery
As I awaited a long wait
to be consumed by doubt
smitten by pain and wanting more
doped by silence
Black became the only colour

Afterall
Death, only a luxury delayed.

Hi! My name is Roshni.. I'm Sudhish's friend. I'm doing a PG Dip at the University of Western Autralia and am in the process of writing my thesis. My thesis is on "Community and Creativity in Women's Blogs" and I'm trying to understand women's motivations behind blogging. I have a few questions to ask you, if you have the time! Do let me know and I'll send them across to you but if you're busy, I understand!
Cheers,
Roshni!
