We the people

Went to NDTV's "We the people" the other day. It was held at Santhome Church. Either they had not done justice to the controversies they discussed or they were too many controversies in Chennai to be discussed, hence did not fit the time slot. Almost every question was left unanswered in a hurry to move on the next topic. It started with Kushboo's comments, then led on to her second current topic - Maxim magazine's fiasco. I saw the Maxim Magazine photo with Kushboo's photo on it. What the hell were they thinking? Where did they get such an idea. I hope she sues them well enough to dry out their press. Very gross. After this came a very short discussion on Universities having a dress code. Then ending with the Disco that was recently closed, thanks to the photographs of couples kissing in a private space, for which they had paid, published in a tamil newspaper for want of increase in circulation. I could understand NDTV's efforts in discussing about it. But far from drawing conclusions, it probably made more North Indians feel that Chennai is one ancient city. We all know what they think of Madrasis and the treatment metted out to a South Indian in Bombay. The program was one loud noise, without a conclusion.
I guess, if we had the discussion for a few more minutes, probably one of those Christian missionaries would have popped in to ban the program having Santhome Church as a backdrop and created another controversy. Are we trying that hard to make news?

Why is ND (New Delhi) TV coming to madras?...to probably blow things out of proportion about a dormant news...I think too many people have graduated from Mass Comm and media these days and are hungry for news, if nothing is available they dig the previous ones...I think they ought to concentrate on how to control the rape cases in Delhi rather than statements by celebrities in cases against them/ by them etc...as far as the fake photo by maxim...I think readers...corrrecting it..lookers buy the magazine just to look I guess...the vice chancellor is an idiot and so are the people following the dress code...Probably Maxim should have put the vice chancellor's fake picture on the cover :)...that would have increased readership...the disco kiss or Kisko diss happens everywhere...what the hell was shiv sena thinking when they were banning things in Bombay (mumbai)..tell ND ( New Delhi) TV to goto Bombay and confront Thackrey...Why is that the North Indians always want to blow a usually quite Southern News...Controversies don't exist they are created...(in this case again and again)

Navin : This is the same thing that happens to all these sex driven movies and making them a hit "Adhula ennadhan irukku paakalame". Probably other magazines will print the kushboo's photo and advertise "Indha photo maxim magazine-il print seyya pattadhu - Visaranai". At the end of the day, media is having a field day.

Vice chancellors pic, :D Not a bad idea at all!

Next they will enter the parties itself to arrest people, who are making out, in the name of law.

All the dress codes that they try to implement- If a man has filth on his mind, whatever a girl wears will seem provocative to him. One of my friend was eve teased right here in TTK road. Two guys made her stop her scooty by not allowing her to drive using their own bikes. Whenever I narrate this incident I hear people saying : She would not have worn her dress right. That would have tempted the boys. She was wearing salwar kameez with dupatta, says I. And then the immediate reaction : Probably she was wearing tight fitting and sleeveless. It is as loose and had half sleeves.
"Why are girl's dress blamed for men's sexuality? " One question rightly asked by a Congress woman in the crowd. Left unanswered again.
If that is the case, why are there more muslims getting raped in Iran and Iraq when they wear Purdha with only their eyes shown to the world.

The Universities are Ok with Saree it seems. That is one of the most provocative dress ever.

*sigh*

Why the hell did you stop blogging?
