Went to NDTV's "We the people" the other day. It was held at Santhome Church. Either they had not done justice to the controversies they discussed or they were too many controversies in Chennai to be discussed, hence did not fit the time slot. Almost every question was left unanswered in a hurry to move on the next topic. It started with Kushboo's comments, then led on to her second current topic - Maxim magazine's fiasco. I saw the Maxim Magazine photo with Kushboo's photo on it. What the hell were they thinking? Where did they get such an idea. I hope she sues them well enough to dry out their press. Very gross. After this came a very short discussion on Universities having a dress code. Then ending with the Disco that was recently closed, thanks to the photographs of couples kissing in a private space, for which they had paid, published in a tamil newspaper for want of increase in circulation. I could understand NDTV's efforts in discussing about it. But far from drawing conclusions, it probably made more North Indians feel that Chennai is one ancient city. We all know what they think of Madrasis and the treatment metted out to a South Indian in Bombay. The program was one loud noise, without a conclusion.
I guess, if we had the discussion for a few more minutes, probably one of those Christian missionaries would have popped in to ban the program having Santhome Church as a backdrop and created another controversy. Are we trying that hard to make news?
